Health MOT UK - How much does it cost and what should you expect?

I turned 40 last year, and after years of thinking about having one, I finally took the plunge and booked a Health MOT. 

Despite giving up alcohol, I still rock a mean beer belly, and there were some other things I wanted to get checked out, so I booked with Bluecrest Wellness, and here are some of my thoughts.

I wanted to share a 2025 update though, as they seem to be increasing in popularity, so let me share a little on my experience, and current costs.

How much does a Health MOT cost?

The costs for a Health MOT have gone up since I used it last year, and here are the latest prices for Bluecrest Wellness’ packages (post written in August 2025):

For me, I still think they offer great value for money, as the results you get are incredibly detailed. You get the results in physical and digital form, and I found them very clear with regards to what you’re actually looking at. 

As written in the original post, I went for a core package, and I would do the same I think if I was to book again. You get a very detailed report with this package, with the only difference between this and the complete Health MOT package being 3 more blood tests, and a consultation with a GP. 

What do the results look like?

Medical terms were broken down into an easy to explain manner, and there is also a very clear traffic light system for your results (Green, Amber, Red), so you have an immediate idea of which areas you need to focus on.

My main concerns were regarding cholesterol, which was no real surprise given my diet at the time, and that was something I could actively focus on. My diet still needs work, I know this, but having actual results telling you as much, it’s more of a motivator. 

There are over 80 results you receive when you get your Health MOT results back, so yep, a lot is covered. I spent a while going through everything, and also sent them over to my mum for her to have a look.

AI is everywhere now, so what you could do is put through the digital results through Chat GPT, and ask for a summary, a meal guide, tips on exercise etc. A friend of mine did this for me and it was very informative. 

What happens during the Health MOT?

So in total, my Health MOT took around 25-30 minutes to complete. You have a few questions at the start (I actually ordered an additional blood test at this point), and you start the tests.

I had height, weight and BMI, blood pressure, heart readings and a blood test done, and it was all incredibly straightforward. Even the blood test, which is never a highlight for anyone, was quick and pretty much painless. 

I had my Health MOT in London, and the venue it took place in was forensically clean (as you’d hope I might add), and easy to get to. The company I chose for my Health MOT, Bluecrest Health, have locations all over the UK, and you can see the closest venue to you, here.

I know blood tests are very advanced these days, but again, considering how short a time I was in the facility, it’s amazing how many detailed results you get back. 

It’s something you could do during a lunch break if you wanted to, it really doesn’t take much time at all. I didn’t eat before my test, and you’ll receive a list of pre-test instructions before you visit which I also found very helpful. 

How long did it take you to get the results back?

It took me 5 days to get my results back, but two of those days were the weekend, so let’s call it 3 working days in total. 

It is a bit of a nervous wait of course, but on the flip side, I believe Bluecrest will call you if anything serious is flagged while they are running their tests. 

Overall, I was very impressed with how speedy everything was with the service. 

Big question, is a Health MOT worth it?

For me, this is an easy yes. The results are so wide-ranging, and I felt I learned so much about what was going on with my body. As mentioned above, I’ve stopped drinking alcohol, so even things like seeing my liver function was normal made the tests worthwhile. 

If you don’t understand everything, then honestly I would just run it through Chat GPT to get more clarity on what the results are showing. 

I felt for the price, what was included made it very good value for money. This is coupled with the fact that you get physical and digital copies as well. I felt better for doing it, and as I get older, I will continue to incorporate Health MOT’s into my life.
