Bus Turístico de Lleida / Tourist Bus Lleida guide

This week I randomly ended up in Lleida, Spain. It's not a place that has ever been on my list, but, circumstances changed, and I found myself in this Spanish town not knowing a thing about where I was staying. Pretty on brand for how I travel to be fair.
What's the best way to find out about a new city? A bus tour of course! I was pretty shocked to see that Lleida even had one to be honest. I had a wander around on the second night I got here, saw the cathedral, walked around the old town (all very lovely) and on my way home I saw the bus, and told myself I must experience it.
Here's a few pics of the old town / the centre of Lleida as you'll miss some of it if you only take the bus.
Where to get the bus?
So, I, and the majority of other people jumped on at Pont Vell / Paeria which appears to be one of the main roads in Lledia. It runs adjacent to the river, so aim for that, and you should be fine.
Here is a look at the bus stop, and the view from the bus stop looking down the road.
The other stops you can jump on the bus can be found at Ricard Vinyes / Av. Prat de la Riba, Mercat del Pla / Seu Vella, and the Templar Castle of Gardeny. Very handy if you want to use the bus to get to some of these places, jump off, and jump back on later.
How do I know all of this I hear you ask? Did I walk around Lleida in near 40 degree heat looking for every tourist bus, bus stop? I most certainly did not. Instead, I found out a lot of relevant information on this super handy website. Even as a non Spanish speaker I found it very useful, so you Spanish speakers will be thriving.
The cost:
€1.20! And that's it. I was as amazed as you probably are reading this right now. Again, and no shade on Lleida, it's a super cute spot, but I wasn't expecting a tourist bus. The fact they have one though, and it's so cheap, win.
I think you could get headphones for €0.50 if you wanted to listen to the audio guide, but I didn't do that, and I didn't see anyone else on the bus do so. If you wanted to though, once again, it's a ridiculously cheap price.
You can also get one of these free Lleida Bus Turistic fans if you so choose. WIN.

How busy was the bus?
I got to the bus stop around ten minutes before the hour, and there were already people getting on. It got pretty busy, but everyone who wanted a seat upstairs looked like they managed to get one.
The bus only runs during the mornings and evenings as it's so hot in summer in Lleida, but it never got to the stage where there were too many people for the bus, or anyone had to be turned away etc.
Duration:
It took around 45-50 minutes to see everything, and then we were back where we started, and jumped off the bus so the next group could see the wonders of Lleida.
What did you see?
The first 15 minutes or so I wasn't overly confident in how good this bus tour would be, even for €1.20. There were a lot of buildings, very nice buildings I must add, but more residential.

It does get better though! The ride up to Seu Vella gave amazing views over Lleida, and the cathedral at the top was beautiful. I went on my bus tour at 8pm, and the sun starting to come down made it all a bit more magical.

After that we went up to the Templar Castle of Gardeny, which was a bit of a mixed bag. I think what I'd recommend is maybe taking a morning bus, and then actually exploring the Castle, and jumping back on the next tourist bus that comes around an hour later.
It was shut when we went up, and although one of the buildings is beautiful, one is abandoned, and trees were blocking the main view.
We stayed at this point for 5 minutes or so, presumably waiting to see if anyone would join us for the ride back to the centre of Lleida. I don't believe anyone did, and we continued on with our epic journey.

As mentioned, it was around 45-50 minutes in total, and if you're hungry after, you're dropped off in the centre of Lleida, so go treat yourself to some delicious food and an ice-cream. It's what you deserve.
Conclusions:
It's €1.20 - do it! It might be even cheaper than the regular buses in Lleida, and you'll save yourself walking up some pretty big hills to see some of the cities main sights.
There wasn't much happening in some parts of the trip, but again that's alright as you shouldn't be expecting to be entertained for the whole bus ride. You also get a bit of a breeze, which as anyone who has visited this place will know, a breeze in Lleida in August is more than welcome.
As mentioned, even if you use it as a taxi service, and use the bus to get to Seu Villa, or the Templar Castle of Gardeny, then do that, and get back on the next one.
I think the local Lleida government/council have done a really good thing by making it so cheap and accessible. Tourists are often ripped off, so this was very refreshing. Good work all involved!
Prices correct as of August 2025.
