The best coworking space in Belgrade - my recommendation

Belgrade is becoming more and more popular as a digital nomad hub, and for good reason. It’s a beautiful city, relatively inexpensive, the weather is a vibe, and you can travel around the city for free!

Yep, Belgrade has really made public transport free for everyone. Locals, tourists, and anyone in between can travel wherever they like in the city (there are only a couple of exceptions), and you can read about this great initiative, here.

With all of this in mind, you’re going to want to have a good coworking space for your stay in the city, and my recommendation for Belgrade is Impact Hub.

So why Impact Hub?

I will go into further detail shortly, but here are a few reasons why Impact Hub gets my vote: Brilliant location, cold and hot drinks included, very reasonable pricing, gorgeous space.

Let’s dig a little deeper, and start with one of the most important things us digital nomads consider when booking a coworking space, cost.

How much does a membership to Impact Hub Belgrade cost?

So firstly let me point out, if you want to check out Impact Hub for a day, they do offer a trial day. All you need to do is contact them through the coworking page on their website, which you can find here.

If you want to commit to a longer membership though, and I recommend you do, then here are your options:

Weekly Plan:

€90 - 40 hours coworking per month. If you’re working part-time, or just in Belgrade for a short time, then the weekly plan could be an ideal option. You can actually spread the hours out over the month, so while it says ‘Weekly Plan’, technically it’s more of a monthly one, and you can use the 40 hours as you choose.

Monthly Plan:

€150 per month. For you full-time workers, or those who are planning to be in Belgrade for a longer time, this should be your option. As in the image above, this works out to around €1 per hour, which is ridiculous value.

Quarterly Plan:

If you’re planning an even longer Belgrade stay, and know you’ll be in the same place for a while, then purchasing the quarterly plan will put your hourly coworking cost at less than €1 per hour. An absurdly cheap rate.

All of the options above come with some extras, including a money off voucher to purchase meeting room space, access to printing etc.

I have been to a lot of coworking spots around the world, and for the size of city, location etc, Impact Hub offers brilliant value.

The space itself:

Let’s look at another important factor for us nomads… what is the space like to work in? Well count me pleasantly surprised! You walk through a gate into a courtyard, which was already a mood setter, and then you enter the Impact Hub space.

First thoughts were, it’s quirky. And quirky for me is a good thing. There’s a danger of coworking spaces starting to look the same, but this is not the case here. There are different chairs, desks and tables strewn around, and you simply pick a place you like, and set up shop.

There is a real history to the place, and while I could try and explain a bit more about it, why don't we hear from one of the Impact Hub staff members? Thank you, Nevena, for sharing a bit more about the space:

'The building where Impact Hub is located used to be the Radio Belgrade building, where radio dramas were once recorded. All the woodwork, the arches, most of the interior you saw is actually preserved from that time, and we try to keep that heritage alive while combining it with something modern.'

After spending some time at Impact Hub, I can attest that you really do feel a mix of old and new. Everything a digital nomad or remote worker could need is available, but you're doing your work in a very unique space. It's a great combination.

There is a big downstairs space (pictures taken during an event), and you’ll also find lockers, meeting rooms, the bathroom and kitchen on this floor.

You can see how big the downstairs area is in this photo of Impact Hub Belgrade

Upstairs is where I chose to work, and it was fun to explore and find your space. There are a number of little nooks, and there is also a gallery which is a popular place to work from.

Upstairs you can also find a terrace, where you can sit to take a moment, or for you smokers, you can use this space to light up.

One of the things I forgot to take a photo of, is an interactive wall display where you can vote on what kind of music you want the coworking to play. I thought this was a really nice touch, and the regular members have some good taste, as there were some jams being played.

I visited Impact Hub in August, so it was super hot, but the space inside was manageable. If you’re looking for a cooler room though I’d recommend the aforementioned gallery, as the air conditioning blows directly into that room, so it’s a bit cooler than the other spots.

Here are a selection of photos showing the Gallery at Impact Hub Belgrade, and as you can see for yourself, it's a unique space.

Where were you working in Impact Hub Belgrade?

So I chose one of the circular tables, and it was well connected with regards to plugs and extension leads. The chair I chose (I had a number of options) was very comfortable, good back support etc, and I had a great view overlooking the ground floor. I’m one of those people who gets easily distracted, so having nice things to look at, bonus.

The internet was fine, and I felt very productive at Impact Hub, which again is a big win. I have been to some coworkings which are too social, but your space is respected here, and you’re free to chat during a break or when you’ve finished for the day.

Location:

The Impact Hub Belgrade website breaks it down way better than I can, and includes information on how to get to the location via public transport, but just so you know, it’s super central.

Impact Hub Belgrade is very centrally based

Impact Hub is close to a lot of bus, trolley and tram stops, and there are also a number of good food options available locally. I stopped in one of the pubs (Pub 25) a few doors down after working, and goodness me, it might have been the biggest portion of wings I’ve ever received.

I didn't realise the wings came with wedges, so ordered extra fries. Yikes.

Wherever you are staying in Belgrade, you shouldn’t have a problem getting to the coworking, and if you have any questions on how to get to Impact Hub, their wonderful Space and Community coordinator, Aleksa, will be able to help.

The bigger picture:

You may or may not know this, but Impact Hub has locations all over the world, and if you sign up for one of their coworking packages, you get the option to spend up to three days at another one of their spots. Pretty sweet freebie.

Events:

Impact Hub Belgrade sometimes runs external events, but noise, space etc wasn’t an issue as I was still able to work fine upstairs. Alternatively, if you’re ever thinking of running an event in Belgrade, then Impact Hub feels like a great option.

So, what’s the verdict?

It would be a bold move if I’d have given this blog post the title of ‘The best coworking space in Belgrade’ and not recommended it. So as you might have guessed, Impact Hub Belgrade does indeed get my vote for where you should cowork if you visit the capital of Serbia.

It’s affordable, the location is super central, the building is interesting and the staff are lovely. I don’t need much else for my coworking location, and I hope you try it out for yourself shortly.

If you have any further questions on Impact Hub, then feel free to message me, or you can contact them directly through the contact form here.

The staff are super helpful, and as you can see below, they promise to get back to you in less than 24 hours (my reply was much quicker when I reached out FYI). Enjoy your time at Impact Hub Belgrade!
