Which ATM doesn't charge you for using Revolut in Bosnia?

I feel lucky that I get to live out the life of a traveller. I get to see some beautiful places, meet wonderful people, and enjoy mostly good weather.

One thing I don't like... paying fees when using my Revolut card to withdraw from an ATM. It may seem a small price to pay after some of the plus points I mentioned in sentence one, but still, it's annoying.

I recently made my first visit to Bosnia, as I continue my quest to visit all of the Balkan countries, and knowing that cash is mostly still king in this part of the world, figured I'd have to withdraw money upon arrival.

That's exactly what I did, but the first time I withdrew money I was so sleep deprived I didn't realise just how expensive the fee was. The ATM fees for withdrawing using Revolut in Bosnia (not sure about other banks and cards) might just be the highest I've experienced in years of travelling (Around £7.50).

Knowing I was going to withdraw money again, I made it a mission to find a Bosnian ATM that didn't charge you for using Revolut, and even though it took me a while, I eventually managed to find one.

Which ATM in Bosnia does NOT charge Revolut fees?

I used this bank twice while visiting Mostar and was able to withdraw without paying the ridiculously high fees I mentioned earlier.

So, the bank I would recommend to Revolut users in Bosnia is Nova Banka.

Nova Banka doesn't appear to charge Revolut users in Bosnia a fee

As mentioned, I used this bank twice, in two different locations, and both times there were no fees charged.

So, if you're in Bosnia, then do your best to use Nova Banka. I tried a lot of ATM's and banks during my stay in Mostar, and this was the only one that didn't charge me. I think there were 3 Nova Banka ATM's in this city alone, so unless you're miles off the beaten track, you should hopefully be able to find one easily enough.

Can you use bank cards in Bosnia?

Basing this off Mostar, cards are not frequently accepted. Bearing in mind this is a SUPER touristy place, then the majority of the country will probably be similar.

I can't comment on how often cards are accepted in the capital, Sarajevo, so if any readers do know, feel free to share in the comments. Based just on Mostar though, Bosnia is very cash heavy so keep that in mind.

If you're a Revolut user, try and find one of these ATMs during your trip to Bosnia

Summary:

Nova Banka should be the ATM you target in Bosnia. After trying myself on the ground, they are the only ones I could find that didn't charge a fee in Bosnia for using your Revolut card.

It could even be worth checking if there is indeed a Nova Banka in the place you're visiting ahead of time, and if not, exchanging money before you arrive in Bosnia.

I was in Mostar for around ten days, and honestly I can't remember using my card once to tap and pay, although in fairness I think I stopped trying.

Are there any other ATMs or Banks that offer fee free withdrawal for Revolut users?

Not that I've seen. I think I tried maybe 7 or 8 different companies, and Nova Banka was the only one that didn't charge a fee. As always, if anyone has experienced differently, then just leave a comment or drop me a message!

What about Wise? Other bank cards? Is there a fee when using them?

As a traveller, I also have a Wise account, but not a card, so I can't comment on whether there is a fee when using a Wise card to withdraw in Bosnia. Again, if anyone knows, just let us know!

Same applies to other bank cards. Revolut finally worked for me, so I was happy using them, especially as there were no massive fees being charged.
